We try to collect as little as possible. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, an optional name, and a hashed password. We use bcrypt, so even we can't read your password.
- Purchase records — which courses and resources you bought or subscribed to, and when. We store transaction IDs from Stripe but never your card number or full billing details — those live with Stripe.
- Technical metadata — standard server logs (IP address, user-agent, page visited, timestamp). Kept for 30 days, then rotated.
What we don't collect
We don't embed third-party advertising trackers. We don't sell, share, or rent your data. We don't use your content or progress to train AI models.
Third parties we rely on
- Stripe handles all payments. When you check out, you go through Stripe's hosted page — we see a transaction ID, not your card.
- Our email provider (configurable between SMTP and Elastic Email) sends transactional emails like receipts and password resets. Your email address is shared only for delivery.
- Our VPS host stores the database and course files. They process logs as any host does.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie (learnillion_sess) to keep you logged in. It's httpOnly and sameSite=Lax. No advertising cookies, no analytics cookies that identify you personally.
Your rights
You can:
- See, edit, or correct your information from your account page.
- Export or delete your account and data by emailing support@learnillion.com. We'll honor the request within 30 days.
- Unsubscribe from subscription-related emails at any time by canceling your subscription. (We don't send marketing emails.)
Data retention
We keep account and purchase records as long as your account is active, plus up to 7 years afterward for tax and accounting. You can request earlier deletion; we'll comply unless legally required to retain.
Children
Learnillion is not intended for children under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe we have, please email us and we'll delete it.
International transfers
Our servers may be located outside your country. By using Learnillion you consent to your information being processed in those locations, subject to this policy.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the "last updated" date above and — for material changes — email active subscribers.
